Traces

“Traces of presence” are are not only literary monuments – textual fragments of Scandinavian sagas with episodes about Trade route from the Varangians to the Greeks, but also the spectators themselves, or rather their traces of presence, which each of us leaves behind every year, every day, every hour, every second. The installation was conceived as a traveling project, a semi-mythical metaphor of our daily human earth reality. Changing the location and each time plunging into a culturally-historically-socially new context, the project acquires new meanings, lives its own life.

Supreme Market Vogue

This collaboration project was inspired by NYC fashion and freelance photographer Dennis Trejo, with his adaptation of strong yellow colors and vintage fashion and Paris based fashion photographer Valentin Fabre.

The location was picked to represent urban fashion, after a late afternoon trip to the local thrift store on a windy day. Sarah Ochieng, the model represented in the photos, picked the clothing to give this set a chic feel. She styled and rocked a sequined 80's dress complete with shoulder pads and a vintage men's suit reminiscent of New York City fashion.

“YOU CAN BE ANYTHING”. This quote was used as an imprint on sweatshirts, translated into three languages: Russian, Ukrainian and English. If you take a photo in a sweatshirt in the mirror, you will see the magic: the upper three lines of the text are masked, and the lower ones appear.

In their autumn collection campaign, the creators of the brand took a chance on the unusual for the imagery of the brand - they wanted it to feel relatable and as authentic as the individuals whom the phrase resonates with.

"Do not let your worth of yourself be defined by any framework; be it a duty to society, parents, or friends ... Be yourself and don't be afraid to change your preferences at the next stage of life." - D A L E K O

Dark Summer Night's Dream

This beauty photo story was born from a collaboration of talented Russian team of photographer Daria Lavrova, Creative Director and Painter Sergey Kozlik and beautiful & talented Model Sabina Khazgaleeva experimenting with make up, styling and light.

Gathering at Sergey’s small place with only two fabric backgrounds: black and white and only one rented, at first we planned to make a set of model tests which grew into a unique and beautiful photo shoot in this low key photography style.

We wanted to make it look a little extravagant and Sergey decided to add a coal black lipstick and no other make up at all. Shooting with a constant hard light and using a soft filter we created a special atmosphere where Sabina stands out from the dark and her beautiful face is glowing in the rays of light.

What’s attractive about her is that she has some features peculiar for a brutal man and sexy and feminine woman at the same time. On the photos we can see a dissonance like wearing a flower in the dress comparing to her strict bun with confident and callous pose and look.

Wearing vintage dresses and leather jacket by Yellow hanger - young brand from Saint Petersburg, Russia, completed the image of Sabina, especially after adding smoky eyes with highlighted eyebrows and later with a wet hair effect.

Made spontaneously, this photo story created beautiful imagery of a young modern & classic woman that resembles heroines from movies of different eras dating from 60s to early 90s.
