The Black Book is our tenth installment of The Doe Creative Brief and is a Special Edition issue inspired by the work of Toni Morrison’s 1974 book, by the same name. Tandemly named Issue X, this body of work is a sounding board of the collective voices that breakthrough systemic racist oppression. It is the needed representation of the voices of Black people, not autonomous in nature, but unified in spirit through the very lineage that has brought us this far.

Inside This Issue | LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
In my three and a half decades of life, I have been many things. A writer, a rapper, a stylist, a nanny, a waitress, a teacher, a publicist, a journalist, a wife, a mother, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a boss, a worker, and an entrepreneur. My autonomy has never felt more challenged
Suddenly This Summer is the culmination of a group of artists in their element giving birth to a new vision, and cultivating spaces for their own kind to thrive. In its twelfth edition, The Doe Creative Brief brings another thoughtful body of work from Creators from all walks of life.
