A call to Protect Black Women At All Cost
On March 13th 2020, 26 year old Breonna Taylor was fatally shot and killed by police in her apartment located in Louisville, KY. She was not only an African American Woman and medical technician volunteering to help those in need she was innocent.
Breonnas death amongst many other Black Women hasn’t seemed to spark headlines around the world as much as the killing of Black Men by police causing many to ask Why are our Black Women being killed and taken away from the Black communities day by day but being swept under the rug?
As we protest and mourn the death of George Floyd , Black Lives Matter activist have made it clear beyond color, that gender is apart of the movement as well , leading many to dig deeper into figuring out what is happening to Black Women. Each day studies have shown that a Black Women are either missing , killed or abused by lawful authority.

Again these countless cases of Black Women being killed, and missing may not make headline news but people within their communities have used social media as a tool to get the message across using hashtag #sayhername.
We are still in search of many of women and black girls missing through the nation and demanding justice for the lives that have been taken. As we continue the movement we are grateful to those using their platforms to bring the awareness that the mainstream media unfortunately barely mentioned.
